Happy Monday Morning News!

Happy Monday Morning!

If you haven’t looked at the news this morning, don’t. It’s all a bunch of awful political stories and coverage of the Grammys…unless you want to go look at the Grammys coverage. That could be fun. Either way, I’ve compiled a list of things going on in the world that are odd, random, and even smile-worthy. There’s too much doom and gloom out there. Why make a Monday morning harder than it has to be, right?

#1 Apparently Rage Yoga is a Thing Now…

I saw this trending on Twitter yesterday. The common thought of yoga is Zen. Inner peace. Calm, happy thoughts….which is absolutely not what this is about in any shape or form. Rage Yoga, from what I understand about it, involves cursing, drinking, and death metal. No, I’m not joking. The brain child of Lindsay-Marie Istace, Rage Yoga is intended to help improve balance and flexibility amongst a flurry of F-bombs and booze. If this sounds like your kind of thing it may be worth checking out. Her site is cute and she even sells jewelry. I’d try this out too, but when you’re married to a giant, rage yoga might not be the best thing for the integrity of our living room…just sayin.

#2 Adult Swaddling is Also Apparently a Thing Now…

…in Japan anyway. Ok, I’ll be honest. I really don’t get this one. Like at all. Allegedly, this is helps with aches and pains. Though I would think that this would actually cause them.

I mean, seriously, WTF. My luck I’d get all swaddled up and get stuck like that. I just don’t see how any good at all can come from this, but there it is nonetheless. If any of you decide to try this, please PLEASE send me pictures so I can laugh at you not laugh at you.

Check it out!

#3 This Cat is a Hero!

People always talk about the heroics of dogs, and yes, they do some pretty great things too, but this time it’s a cat! This Canadian kitty woke her owner up by biting her to alert her of a fire in the home. This is so amazing! Look at that fuzzy little hero face! Check her out!

#4 This Sasquatch Completely wrecked a Weather Report

As WWLP-22 news reporter Jennifer Pagliei was covering Springfield’s snowy weather on scene, she didn’t immediately notice what was going on behind her.

But in all fairness, how could anyone have expected that? Here’s a link to the full story and the video.

#5 A Random Act of Kindness

This story highlights just how powerful social media truly is. SO this guy is sleeping outside of a bus stop. This woman sees him and decided to help him out. She goes to a nearby sandwich shop gives the owner money to but the guy food and a warm drink. As if this wasn’t already heartwarming enough, the owner was moved by this kind gesture and posted it on Facebook…and it went viral. Ultimately the homeless guy was reunited with his family! How cool is that?

Here’s the link to the article.

So, now that you’ve read your happy/weird/nonpolitical news for the morning it’s time to get out there and make things happen….and maybe find time for a little random act of kindness of your own.

Okay, done being mushy! Have a great Monday!

    1. Thank you! I’m right there with you! I used to read the news every day, anymore it’s so depressing! I’m thinking I might turn this Happy News thing into a weekly occasion.

  1. Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own website soon but
I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with
a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused ..

    Any tips? Bless you!

    1. Hi Archie,

That is a broad question. First off, what is your website about? Will it have something to do with writing? Maybe, a site to give you exposure? There are now two different WordPress sites, one is free and one not as much. One is a .com and the other is a .org. My suggestion would be to go with a free site for now. Find your focus. I would probably suggest a WordPress themed site. They use cPanel for the administrator control panel. This is important for when it is time to upgrade. Transferring your site to a paid site, when you have cPanel is very simple. You will not lose any information. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
